Showcasing an event description, speakers, hotel information, date, sponsors and promotions in a neat and orderly way can be difficult. I used grid work and made sure to block up elements while including white space to make things pleasing to the eye and also easy to look for each time you look at the flyer. Don’t let your holiday card get lost in the swarm of cards in the mail. Corporate Holiday cards should stay true to your brand but stand out in a playful way for the Holidays to spread warmth and cheer and show your customers you care.
In this example, my mission was to design a Holiday Card for an engineering product distribution company. The company used mostly blue and green for their brand and hexagons for their graphics. I wanted to design something modern and playful but wasn’t sure how I would accomplish that with images of motherboards or tools.
I didn’t want to create something that looked overly photoshopped either because that tends to look cheesy. My solution was to create icons. I searched their site for some of their popular products and designed a set of icons. I decided to place them in a shape of a Holiday Wreath since I feel it’s a symbol that many cultures could relate to. I mixed in icons of ornaments, stars and snow to dress it up.
I made sure to still include hexes and the company’s color scheme. The treatment of the hexes is a little different than how they usually treat them but these were placed to look almost like jewels or diamonds to play off more of the holiday theme.
